The Project Distinction team joined by renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Ridwaan Mia and Catherine Constantinides from Lead SA motivated and inspired learners at the Trinity Secondary School in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg.
Project Distinction is a rewards programme aimed to incentivize grade 12 learners affording them an opportunity to aim higher academically and stand a chance of being recognised.
The belief of entrepreneurs, Waseem Sirkhot, Mohamed Jassat and Ismail Moola is the future generation needs help, motivation, upliftment and to be treated with more respect which is why the three are passionate about helping empower the youth.
“Project Distinction is a wonderful initiative, geared at incentivizing matriculants and grade 11’s to getting higher marks and at the same time it’s encouraging the business community to put their money where their mouths are and to contribute to this really awesome cause,” Dr. Ridwan Mia told Radio Islam.
“So they have their bursaries paid for, have been given phones, laptops, and even spending money so that they can become better matriculants and better university students so that the incentive carries forward into a place that really matters.”
Project Distinction currently caters for government schools in Lenasia, Marlboro Gardens and Actonville in Benoni.
Entrepreneur Mohamed Jassat said they hope to extend the programme to others areas in the future.
