With the COVID-19 infection rate continuing to climb, the presidency has announced that President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation on Sunday night at 8pm on the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The presidency says Ramaphosa’s address follows meetings of the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC) and the president coordinating council.
As South Africa rolls out its COVID-19 vaccination programme, government and social partners are continuously monitoring infection, treatment and patient recovery rates as well as compliance with health regulations and other prevention matters.”
Ramaphosa moved the country to lockdown level 4 fourteen days ago to mitigate the spread of the virus as the country battles this third wave and the Delta variant.
