Polokwane Kidnapper Charged with Abduction & Attempted Murder

April 12, 2016

Faizel Patel, 2016-04-12

A 26-year-old man arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a Polokwane woman has been charged with abduction and attempted murder.

Tsome Kobo appeared in the Polokwane Magistrates Court yesterday.

He is accused of abducting 35-year-old Anisah Moosa outside her uncles Nirvana home last month.

Three gunmen forced Moosa into the back seat of her car and drove off. Her family later received ransom demands.

An operation by various units of the South African Police Service led to her safe return a few days later.

The Moosa family has welcomed the news of the arrest.

Spokesperson Yusuf Abramjee says they are grateftul to the Hawks and police for working around the clock to apprehend the suspect.

“Lets allow the law to take its court course. We remain confident that the remaining gang members will be arrested.”

Abramjee did not rule out the possibility that the gang may be linked to other abductions in Limpopo.
