Gauteng police are searching for a group of men after raiding a car ‘chop shop’ in Lenasia South extension 4, south of Johannesburg on Thursday.

The police’s Kay Makhubela said the suspects fled the scene after the bust.

“We had an incident at one of the houses in extension 4 where they were stripping cars and the police went in, but the suspects managed to runaway.”

He said police confiscated the parts of the stripped cars.

“We are appealing to anyone with information of the suspects to come forward,” said Makhubela.
