Police Launch Manhunt for Suspects After CIT Guards Robbed in Lenasia South

May 04, 2017

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 04-05-2017

Police have launched a manhunt for a group of suspects after they robbed cash in transit guards at the Shoprite in Lenasia South.

It’s understood the guards were collecting cash from the store when they were accosted by the armed men.

Police say the men took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene.

The police’s Lungelo Dlamini says they are investigating a case of armed robbery and attempted murder.

“While the suspects were fleeing to the getaway car, the other guards chased them. There was a shootout between the suspects and the guards, but they managed to escape. We believe one of the suspects was wounded because their getaway car had blood inside. At this stage we have launched a manhunt for the suspects.”
