As the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia prepares to gradually phase in Umrah, It’s emerged that each pilgrim will be given just three hours to perform Umrah, starting and ending in the triage areas around Makkah.
This comes after the Saudi Arabian Interior Ministry on Tuesday announced the gradual resumption of Umrah including the visitation of Masjid-un-Nabawi in Medina while taking the necessary health precautions to protect pilgrims.
Head of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais has implement a series of precautionary measures and initiatives launched to receive pilgrims and worshipers at the Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia from 4 October.
The first stage of Umrah is scheduled to start on 4 October and will be operated through the I’tamarna app.
Arab New reports, the plan is to have triage areas around the holy city, allowing 6,000 pilgrims to perform Umrah each day at six different times, with each group of 1,000 pilgrims being given three hours.
The first stage will allow Umrah for Saudis and expats residing in the Kingdom, before expanding to a bigger capacity in the next stages to allow pilgrims from across the globe.
