The price of all grades of petrol is expected to drop by 20 cents a litre.
The energy department has confirmed that diesel will also decrease by 32 cents a litre from Wednesday.
The decrease has been attributed to the strengthening Rand against the drop in international oil prices.
The energy department’s Robert Maake said: “The following fuel price adjustment will be effective on Wednesday the 7th of December. Petro both grades will drop by 20 cents a litre, diesel will drop by 31 & 32 cents a litre and paraffin will drop by 38 cents and LP gas by 17 cents a kilogram.”
