There will be some relief for motorists at the petrol pumps, after the Energy Department announced the price of all grades of petrol will decrease by 13 cents per litre from Wednesday.
The prices of different grades of diesel go down by 16 cents (for 0.05% sulphur) and 14 cents (0.005% sulphur) per litre while illuminating paraffin will decrease by 23 cents per litre.
The price of LP gas also decreases by 30 cents per kg.
The Energy Department says the main reason for the fuel price decreases is the lower oil prices during the period under review when compared to the previous one.
It says the oil prices also edged lower as concerns about slower global economic growth overshadowed signs of a softening in the trade war between the United States of America and China.
South Africa’s fuel prices are adjusted on a monthly basis, informed by international and local factors.
