Petrol Price Remains Unchanged, Diesel, Paraffin to Increase

The Energy Department has announced the price of Diesel will increase by 47 cents a litre from Wednesday while the price of all grades of petrol will remain unchanged.

Illuminating paraffin increases by 28 cents per litre while LP Gas goes down by 61 cents per kilogram.

The department says South Africa’s fuel prices are adjusted on a monthly basis, informed by international and local factors.

“The current fuel price adjustments are due mainly to the international factors, namely, the stronger Rand and higher crude oil prices. Geopolitical tensions are having a very negative impact on crude oil prices and consequently refined product prices globally.”

The fuel prices schedule for the different zones will be published on Tuesday.
