The Gauteng Department of Education has officially opened the 2019 online application system for Grade 1 and 8 admissions.

The department believes the online system is convenient for parents, as they can apply from their PC, mobile smartphones or tablet at any time.

However, some parents claim the process takes even longer.

Radio Islam’s Ml Sulaimaan Ravat engaged with listeners on Sabaahul Muslim this morning, where some parents sent through feedback on the online application process.

“One listener saying that the system was bombing out yesterday in some parts of the morning.”

“Others saying that the online part of it was good, it was simple, it was straight forward, but then you had to physical go and hand over documentation at the schools, and getting those documents certified at a police station was more of a process.”

The online application system is expected to close on 28 May at midnight.
