Palestinian Refugee Crisis Unresolved Issue & Can’t be “Wished Away”

September 03, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 03-09-2018

A Radio Journalist and analyst with eye on Middle East says the plight of Palestinian refugees is still a major unresolved issue and something must be done to change the status quo.

Hafez Ebrahim Moosa was speaking to Radio Islam during the Palestine Report this morning.

Some countries, including Germany and Jordan, are warning of dangerous consequences after the US cut all funding, which amounts to $300m, to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.

Israel has backed the decision, which the Palestinians say is an attack on their people.

Hafez Moosa says Israel together with the US in a shared interest has always found the issue with Palestinian refugees problematic.

He says the funding cuts will have a devastating effect on Palestinian refugees.

“What Palestinians are pointing out, besides the economic impact, this is more a political move, by the United States of America to undermine the Palestinian right of return.

Hafez Moosa says even though Trumps is taking Palestinians right of return off the table, this is something that is not going to be wished away but rather propel the issue creating more awareness across the world.
