The country is facing a crisis after the damning report released by the independent panel into the Phala Phala saga stated that President Cyril Ramaphosa had a case to answer. The reaction from opposition parties was scathing, and opposition parties are now asking ANC members to consider the country’s well-being when voting on a motion in Parliament next Tuesday. Indications are that the President could be addressing the nation anytime soon.

In discussion with Radio Islam International, ActionSA’s Herman Mashaba said the ANC has compromised the criminal justice system over the last 28 years. However, Mashaba praises the efforts of the Judiciary.

There are calls for President Ramaphosa’s immediate resignation.

Mashaba further expressed much disappointment in the ANC and Ramaphosa.

“Cyril Ramaphosa should just step aside while we know the ANC will just replace the seat with someone worse as there are no credible leaders available in the ANC,” he says.

Listen to the interview with Mufti Yusuf Moosagie and Herman Mashaba on Radio Islam’s podcast.
