Only Ten Rakaats Taraweeh to be Read in Haram in Makkah During Ramadan, No Public Allowed

With just three days left before the start of the blessed month of Ramadan, it’s emerged that only ten rakaats of Taraweeh will be performed in the Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Haramain Info which shares news from the holy lands in Saudi Arabia posted on their Facebook page that the public would also not be allowed to read Taraweeh in the Haram and have been advised to read at home.

It’s also emerged that ifthar meals have been cancelled in Makkah and Medina and will be replaced with food baskets which will be distributed in both cities.

The completion of the holy Qur’an will be done on the 29th of Ramadan during Tahajjud.

According to Haramain info, the two Imam’s leading the taraweeh will read six and four rakaats respectively including the three witr.

Umrah also remains suspended until further notice. 

Saudi Arabia earlier announced that the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom had reached 10,484 while six new deaths had been reported, raising the death toll to 103.
