A one-year-old child and 30-year-old man have died in a shack fire in Alexandra.
It’s understood about twenty shacks were destroyed by the fire on Saturday night.
Johannesburg Emergency Services Robert Mulaudzi says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
“During the fire incident, two people lost their lives, a one-year-old girl together with a 30-year-old man also lost their life during the fire incident. They were burnt beyond recognition.”
Mulaudzi has urged residents to be responsible with heating devices which may cause a fire.
