Saudi Arabia has announced that there will be no iftar or suhoor buffets at restaurants and hotels during the holy month of Ramadan including in masaajid in the Kingdom.
The move comes as part of the measures and preventive protocols by authorities to curb the spread of coronavirus during Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr
A number of ministries including interior, health, municipal, Islamic affairs, tourism, and media have approved the Ramadan and Eid coronavirus preventive plan.
As part of the plan, Municipal Affairs and the Tourism Ministry will forbid holding iftar buffets and suhoor in restaurants and hotels.
Saudi Gazette report that monitoring campaigns will be beefed up in parks and unlicensed playgrounds within the urban areas and limiting the number of people who will be allowed to gather in large parks including setting up controlled entrances and exits while small parks will be closed.
The ministries also approved the extension of the operating hours of malls across the kingdom in line with COVID-19 protocols
