A new-born baby has been found in a refuse bin at a residence in Roshnee near Vereeniging.
It’s understood the homeowner heard a noise coming from the bin this afternoon and discovered the baby wrapped in plastic bags.
Paramedics says they arrived on scene and found the new-born in a critical condition with severely low body temperature.
ER24’s Russell Meiring says the incident was reported to authorities for further investigations.
“Treatment, advanced life support intervention and rapid warming were immediately initiated. Once the young infant was stable paramedics transported him to nearby provincial hospital for further care.”
