Avoiding Foods that Make Diarrhoea Worse
The first step in controlling diarrhoea is avoiding the foods that can make the condition worse. Foods such as sugar, artificial sweeteners, fatty foods, foods that contain caffeine, and some fruits and vegetables, contain chemicals that actually loosen the formation of stools. During bouts of diarrhoea make sure that you eliminate colas, coffee, prunes, regular table sugar, diet foods, fried foods, and sweetened breakfast cereals from your diet.
Once you have eliminated these things from your diet it is time to add in some items that can help eliminate the symptoms of diarrhoea and firm up your stools.
Orange Juice- Mixing orange juice with a little salt and a cup of water will make a great hydrating drink that also helps curb the symptoms of diarrhoea.
Lime Juice- Adding a tablespoon of lime juice to one cup of hot water and drinking the mixture every fifteen minutes will stop occurrence of diarrhoea within a few hours.
Nutmeg- Swallowing a teaspoon of ground nutmeg will help eliminate the symptoms of diarrhoea.
Diary Products- While most diary products, like milk, will usually make diarrhoea worse, ingesting a mixture of one tablespoon cottage cheese and one tablespoon sour cream three to five times a day will actually reduce the occurrence of diarrhoea and relive its symptoms.
Mash a ripe banana. Mix with 1 tsp of tamarind pulp and a pinch of salt. Take twice a day.
A tsp of date paste mixed with 1 tsp honey. To be taken 4-5 times a day.
Have 1 cup of fresh Pomegranate juice 3-4 times a day.
Mix some roasted cumin seeds and black salt in buttermilk and have this mixture after meals to prevent as well as cure Diarrhea naturally.
Simply taking one teaspoon of honey in half a glass of buttermilk is one of the easiest possible home remedies for Diarrhoea.
Water, Sugar and Salt Solution: This solution is an essential medicine for diarrhea. It is effective treatment for adults as well as for children and infants. Add lime juice (sour/sweet) or orange juice to taste. For adults, a mixture of 1 litre of water, 1 teaspoon of salt and 8 teaspoons of sugar is good for curing diarrhea. For children, 1 litre of water is added with ¾ teaspoon.
A simple and effective remedy for treating diarrhoea would be to take banana along with curd.
Take ½ tsp lemon juice, ½ tsp ginger juice and 1/4 tsp pepper powder. Intake this mixture twice a day.
