Lenasia residents have been left distraught and heartbroken following the passing of Ml Abdullah Nana.
Ml Nana passed away on Saturday after a long illness.
The renowned Aalim was a huge figure in the Lenasia community having taught hundreds of Ulama and the public in the country.
Ml Nana who was the former Imam of Saaberie Jumuah Masjid in Rose Avenue in Lenasia served the community for over 36 years.
He was also the owner of M.I Nana Islamic bookshop in the Oriental Plaza in Fordsburg.
His nephew Ml Muhammad Bham says Ml Nana is a huge loss to the community and people are still trying to come terms with his passing.
“Ml Nana was a well-respected and very humble individual. He cared a lot for his students and was a lover of the Qur’an. He kept in touch will all of his students even after their graduation and always shared advice to anyone who needed it.”
Secretary General of Jamiatul Ulama South Africa (JUSA) Ml Ebrahim Bham has also conveyed his condolences to the Nana family.
“There is comfort in knowing that the Marhoom has reached closer to his final destination. Death is but a bridge uniting the lover to his beloved. Death does not signal the end, it is only the start of a fresh and more eternal phase of life.
Radio Islam International has also shared condolences to the Nana family.
May Allah Ta’aala forgive the Marhoom raise his status in Jannah (paradise) and make his grave spacious and accommodating. May Allah Ta’aala grant the bereaved family the strength to bear their loss with fortitude and engage themselves in Eethaal-e-Thawaab for the deceased and for all the Marhoomeen.
