Muslim Boy Questioned by Police Over Spelling Mistake

January 20, 2016

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News, 2016-01-20

A 10-year-old British Muslim boy has been interviewed by police after making a spelling mistake in an English writing lesson at his primary school in Lancashire that he lived in a terrorist house instead of a “terraced” house.

The BBC is reporting teachers did not realize the boy made an error and reported him to the police in accordance with new counter-terrorism rules, which critics say are focused on Muslim communities.

Police also examined a laptop at the family home.

To protect the identity of the child, the BBC did not give names in its report.

His parent are now demanding an apology saying he’s afraid of writing.
