Musallee’s from the Hout Bay Masjid – Masjid-ul-Bahrain in Cape Town says they have been left truly inspired by a 7-year-old boy’s tenacity to read salaah.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, the masjid writes they are really struggling to get the youth to be punctual or read their obligatory salaah as commanded by Allah (SWT) because of societal influences and circumstances.
Masjid-ul-Bahrain says Tahir de Moor doesn’t even know the inspiration he sparked in the hearts of the congregation.
“Tahir said to us that he just felt he needed to come to the masjid and asked us to teach to perform wudu and salaah, Subhanallah. Uncle Kariem one of our regular musallees then readily offers to teach how to make wudu.”
It says after the wudu lesson, Imam Shaykh Isgaak Taliep spotted another 7-year-old youngster named as Caleb standing at the entrance of the masjid waiting for his friend (Tahir).
“Shaykh then invited him into the masjid which he replies: ‘but I’m Christian (maar ek is Chris)’.”
Masjid-ul-Bahrain says Shaykh Taliep then informed Caleb that he could wait for Tahir inside the masjid, and what happened next really inspired the musallees.
“After performing Asr salaah, Shaykh Isgaak learnt that Caleb too was performing salaah with all of us, sonder Abdas (wudu) nogal.”
Masjid-ul-Bahrain made dua that Allah protect all our children and grant them the gift of Islam and Imaan and make them steadfast on the Almighty’s obedience, Insha’Allah.
