Double murder accused Rameez Patel has been granted bail for a second time in the Polokwane Magistrates Court.
He’s accused of murdering his wife Fatima in April, but maintains she was killed by robbers who broke into their Nirvana complex.
Patel was then re-arrested two weeks ago for the murder of Tony Adams in 2013.
Adams was beaten to death with a hockey stick after he broke into Patel’s property.
His body was found dumped in the parking lot of a local supermarket.
The police’s Ronel Otto says the magistrate in the case has upheld Patel’s previous bail of R250,000.
“Bail conditions still include that he must report to the police station once a day and he’s also not allowed to leave the Polokwane area without the authorisation of the investigating officer.”
Meanwhile, police confirmed the body of Fatima was exhumed for forensic tests last month.
He will be back in court for Fatima’s murder in September. – EWN
