KwaZulu-Natal police are investigating a case of house robbery after the wife of the Muazzin of the Phoenix masjid was robbed.
It’s understood two unknown suspects entered the Muazzin’s house on the masjid compound in Greenbury during Esha salaah last night and accosted the woman and her child demanding cash and valuables.
The police’s Nqobile Gwala says no one was hurt and they are searching for the suspects.
“A 20-year-old woman was allegedly accosted by two unknown suspects who robbed of three cellphones. The victim allegedly ran to the mosque and the suspects fled.”
Gwala has appealed to anyone with information about the robbery to contact the police.
