Renowned Islamic scholar Ml Ebrahim Bham says Allah mentions in the Qur’an that the Almighty will not change the conditions of people until they change their own conditions.

Ml Bham was speaking during a gathering in Houghton on Saturday night.

He says people must be appreciative of all the favours Allah has bestowed on them.

“When you speak of all this ni’mats and all these favours that Muslims in South Africa have, the educational infrastructure, the takaful system, halaal certifying authorities, help lines, Jamiatul Ulama’s to refer to and all of that. It’s something we have to keep in mind that Allah will not change it until we do not change it by ourselves by being complacent about the favours Allah has given us.”

Ml Bham says Allah will not punish Muslims if they are grateful and have faith in Him.

“The Ulama says what the meaning of this is, ‘when Allah has given you any favour, whether that favour be with regard to your own self, whether it be as a community, Allah will not take that favour away from you until you are ungrateful for the favour Allah has granted you.”

Ml Bham says if Muslims want to enjoy the conditons Allah has blessed them with they must use what Allah has granted them in a proper way.
