MediaTech Africa Brings Technology & Creativity to Life

July 20, 2017

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 20-07-2017

With more than 140 exhibitors and 700 brands, MediaTech Africa is the largest media and entertainment technology trade show for southern Africa.

Held biennially, MediaTech Africa presents the latest technologies and trends to southern Africa’s broadcast and film sector and rapidly growing live event and AV system integration industries.

This trade fair allows thousands of decision-makers in broadcast, film and AV; production and post-production; animation and new media; studio and recording to discover new trends, solutions and service providers and assess top technologies from manufacturers and distributors locally and around the world.

The technology found at MediaTech ranges from audio-visual equipment, drone quad copters, home automation gadgets, fancy fountain graphics and extra ordinary lighting shows.

Speaking to Radio Islam, MediaTech’s Julia Christison says technology is key to the expo.

“So it’s very unique, it brings everyone with the same mind, with the same creativity and the same love for technology under one roof.”

She says the highlight of the show this year is to bring creativity to life where visitors can experience technology and see how it works.

“We have the 360 time slides which is the camera that captures you from 360 degrees, we have a VR (virtual reality) experience, we have the Black Box which is a light show to music. That is all incorporated into this years show and it’s really been amazing.”

Media Tech Africa has been running for the past nine years and has grown immensely since its inception.

The expo runs until Friday 21 July.
