The Lenasia Muslim Association (LMA) reopens another Madrassah on 38 Agapanthus Avenue in Extention 2 in Lenasia as it picks itself up from the hard-hit Covid-19 lockdowns.
The madrassah, nestled in the Greyville vicinity, consists of 10 spacious rooms that will be muktab classrooms for grade 1 until grade 8 students.
“Today we’ve got a beautiful madrassah and the environment is so vibrant, and my children are so excited and [we hope] that it will be a means of good education [to the students],” says LMA principal Moulana Khalid Pandor.
The opening event at the madrassah was attended by board members, eager teachers, and students who overlooked the building with broad smiles.
“This is one of the best things that could happen to us, and it has given us so much joy to see our learners come to this institute where it feels like home,” says supervisor Amina Mohammed.
The LMA aims to open three new madrassahs in the coming months in Lenasia South and Eldorado Park.
