Former President Jacob Zuma has pleaded not guilty to all sixteen charges against him.
Zuma appeared in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Wednesday.
The state is pursuing corruption, money laundering, racketeering and fraud charges against Zuma and French company Thales over the 1999 arms deal contract.
Addressing supporters after his appearance, Zuma told who gathered that he was innocent and that he hoped that state prosecutor Billy Downer would be removed from the case after accusing him of leaking information to the media.
Zuma accused Downer of conspiring with the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the case against him.
The matter has been postponed until the 19th of July.
