Award winning Palestinian journalist Daoud Kuttab says the US economic plan for solving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a rehash of previous Israeli plans which it calls a benevolent occupation.
Bahrain is hosting the so-called “Peace to Prosperity” workshop to discuss what the United States has described as the economic part of President Donald Trump’s “deal of the century”.
The Palestinian leadership is boycotting the meeting in Manama, leading critics to question the credibility of the event.
Speaking to Radio Islam, Daoud Kuttab says the plan by the US is not viable and will not work.
“They don’t want to end the occupation, but they want to make it a bit more softer, more livable. So that’s the plan they have and they tried to encourage investors including mostly Arab investors to pay for this plan.”
Palestinians staged rallies across the West Bank in protest of the US-led conference in Bahrain.
