[LISTEN] “Those Who Break Family Ties Will NOT Enter Paradise”

October 11, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 11-10-2018

Esteemed scholar and Secretary General of the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa Ml Ebrahim Bham says a hadith by Nabi Muhammad (saw) states that a person who breaks off family ties will not enter into Jannah. (Bukhari & Muslim)

Ml Bham was rendering an emotional lecture about the importance and rights of relatives in Islam.

Ml Bham says people should educate children about family ties and also take them to visit family so that they can become acquainted with those that are related to them.

He says society has evolved to such an extent that spending time and being kind to relatives has become a neglected responsibility.

“On small, small things we break off ties. A brother and a sister, a brother and brother who used to play together, who used to drink the milk of their mother, the same breast and today you ask them ‘what’s happening, we’re not speaking to one another.’”.

Ml Bham says Allah hastens to punish people for two sins.

“Allah Ta’ala hastens the punishment in this world besides what he has for you in the hereafter. One is Thulam, oppressing other people and one is breaking family ties. These two things Allah Ta’ala gives you the punishment in this world before whatever happens in there hereafter.”

Ml Bham says a hadith by Nabi Muhammad (SAW) states that if a person is good and kind to their relatives, Allah will grant them barakah in their sustenance and increase their age.
