The executive account manager at Payflex says the online shop allows customers to buy the items they want completely interest free.
In a new shopping phenomenon that has gained extreme popularity in Australia, the USA and Europe, South Africans can now also make use of Payflex.
The online shop is different from others who promote the idea of shop now, pay later.
Payflex launched in 2019 with Superbalist, South Africa’s leading online fashion merchant, to meet the needs of South African shoppers.
There are now over 500 online merchants on the Payflex digital mall.
Speaking to Radio Islam, Playflex’s Cassidy Beck says there’s no catch to the online shop.
“What makes Payflex so exciting is we allow you to get what you want right now, but there’s no additional fees. So it’s completely interest free, you spread your payments over six weeks, there’s no fees, no interest and absolutely no catch.”
Beck says the idea for the online shop started in Australia.
She explains how Payflex makes money if there is no catch.
“What we do is we charge the retailer we partner with a transaction fee. We do this because at the end of the day while we are helping our customers, we are also helping the retailer increase their sales and acquire new customers.”
Beck sys Payflex does charge customer a small penalty fee if they miss their payments after six weeks, adding that the company does email customers to inform them when their payment is due.
