A former ANN7 employee has told Radio Islam he knew he created a monster when the former Gupta owned TV station was launched
Rajesh Sundaram was speaking about his new book Indentured, Behind the Scenes at Gupta TV.
Sundaram claims that the name Africa News Network was in fact chosen by former President Jacob Zuma, South African staff members were treated badly and that it was all about making money fast.
He says that as the editorial team, they were instructed by the previous owners, the Guptas, to make Zuma feel important and seek suggestions from him on how to run the channel.
Sundaram says he had to tell the South African public about the reasons why ANN7 was being launched.
“The design that the Gupta brothers and President Zuma had for the station, about how this was a propaganda station. Like I said, I knew at that point I created a monster and handed it over to the enemies of the people of South Africa and I knew from that time that I had to write a book and come out.”
