Radio Islam and the Lenasia community have been left shattered after the loss of one its colleagues and activists.
Ml Ebrahim Peerally, a producer at Radio Islam and member of the Muslims Response Unit (MRU) passed away in the early hours of Monday morning from natural causes.
As a dedicated employee, Ml Peerally played a critical role in the technical department at Radio Islam.
Ml Peerally joined Radio Islam on 1st January 2005 as a sound engineer, eventually progressing to head of the production and technical team at the radio station.
He was instrumental in leading the launch of our KZN studios and upgrades of the Lenasia studios.
Ml Peerally along with his technical staff were also responsible for Radio Islam’s outside broadcasts.
Station Manager Ml Heider Dhorat says Ml Peerally is a great loss for Radio Islam and the community at large.
“Ml was just a person of unique qualities. A person whose friends, colleagues never knew to get angry and always had a smile on his face. His commitment and dedication was amazing. You could depend on Ml. We can most certainly say Radio Islam has indeed lost a giant.”
Programmes Manager Ml Sulaimaan Ravat says Ml Peerally was a unique individual.
“He was the first engineer I worked with. He was a very easy going person, exuding calmness. He was never a person who wanted to be in the forefront. He always wanted to be the background person.”

May Allah grant us and all the marhoomeen forgiveness and Jannatul Fidous Ameen.
One should recite Surah Ikhlas three times for the Esaale Sawaab of ones parents and all the Marhoomeen.
