[LISTEN] Prof Raymond Parsons explains the latest Brexit uprisings

October 29, 2019

Husain Mohamed, Radio Islam News: 29-10-2019

In a latest turn of Events, European Union Council President Donald Tusk has announced that the EU has agreed to accept the UK’s request for a Brexit extension till January 21st of 2020.

He says the bloc would allow for a so called “FLEXTENSION’. This means that the UK could leave before the deadline if a deal was approved by Parliament.

The move came as a surprise to many as it was expected that no further delay would be granted to the initial end of October deadline.

North-West University Professor, Raymond Parsons, gave Radio Islam an ‘in depth’ update saying that a ‘NO DEAL’ would negatively impact both the UK and EU.

“As frustrated as the EU in Brussels is with the UK Parliament in London, the costs of a no deal would be very high for both the EU and for the UK. So if Britain was to crash out of the EU without a deal it would be an irreversible decision.”

He says the UK can use this time to decide what it wants.
