The Peshawar Press Club says Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan received a warm welcome from his US counterpart President Donald Trump during his three-day visit to the country.
Khan met US President Donald Trump on Monday, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to the Afghan peace process and the US president offering his services to mediate in the Kashmir dispute with India has rejected the proposal.
Khan and his delegation also met with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, US congressional leaders, and the heads of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
The Peshawar Press Club’s Shamim Shahid says Khan and Trump agreed on a number of issues.
“Prime Minister Imran Khan was received with warm welcome by US party men, the people and by the military.”
On his return, Khan struck a defiant tone, where he asserted that Pakistan was seeking a “reset” of its relationship with the US in order to be seen as an equal partner.
