November 01, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 01-11-2018

Former Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille has described her time with the Democratic Alliance (DA) as an oppressive and abusive relationship and that it’s better to walk away.

De Lille announced on Wednesday that she is leaving the office of Mayor of the city of Cape Town and will also walk away from the DA.

She made the announcement at the Western Cape High Court where she filed papers challenging findings made in the Bowmans report.

Speaking to Radio Islam, De Lille says she had to turn to the courts to seek fairness, justice and clear her name.

“My advice always to people that if you are in such an oppressive, abusive relationship, is to just walk away. Because certainly my brief life is not to be involved on a daily basis with this kind of dirty politics.

The DA’s Natasha Mazzone while they expect the constant insults from De Lille to be ongoing the party wishes De Lille well for her future endeavours.
