The Palestine Information Network (PIN) says the Israeli Knesset has formalised what has been widely known for a while that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s reign was eventually going to end.

Pin’s Hafez Ebrahim Moosa was speaking to Radio Islam on Monday during the Palestine Report.

An alliance of Israeli parties ousted Netanyahu, the country’s longest-serving prime minister, and formed a new government in a seismic shift in the country’s turbulent politics.

Condemned as the “crime minister” by his critics, Netanyahu has long been the dominant, and increasingly divisive, figure in Israeli politics.

Hafez Moosa says Netanyahu despite being ousted has projected himself as returning to the helm.

“The projection going forward beyond Netanyahu is that the man might still be able to come back and reinvent himself more because of the fragility of the coalition that has taken power. Sixty to fifty-nine, that was the vote at the Knesset yesterday, so on a hairs edge, on a very tight rope.”

Hafez Moosa says even with Netanyahu out, the Palestinian struggle will continue.

“As we said many times before, for Palestinians it might just get worse. But at the same time it’s irrelevant because irrespective of which parties come to power in Israel, they still remain dominated by this violent military dictatorship of Israeli occupation in the West Bank, the Gaza, as well as the apartheid laws within the state of Israel.”

Hafez Moosa also shared news about his new book titled “Masjid Al Aqsa, a Journey Through Time”, which he says is expected to be launch this week and focuses on his personal journey to Gaza and Palestine.
