[LISTEN] Palestine Report: Israel Described as Source of World Terrorism at UN General Assembly

The Palestine Information Network (PIN) says a number of world leaders highlighted the plight of the Palestinians at the 74th UN General Assembly in New York.

During the Palestine Report on Radio Islam, Hafez Ebrahim Moosa emphasized on how South Africa’s International Relations Minister Naledi Pandor highlighted the Palestinian cause.

Hafez Moosa says Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan presented a map of a disappearing Palestine while there were also contributions from Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar and Malaysia amongst others.

He says Pandor mentioned that the United Nations is required to assist and take Palestine out of occupation just like it assisted South Africa overcome apartheid.

“…And mentioning that Palestine has been in occupied in her words for over seventy years and despite being in occupation for seventy years, last year was one of the worst years of occupation according to Naledi Pandor.”

Hafez Moosa says there was also strong words from Malaysia’s Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.

“Ninety four years old, leader of Malaysia who said that Israel was one of the products of the United Nations in its early years and he described Israel as the source of world terrorism.”

Hafez Moosa also touched on other news about Palestine, including the Israeli elections and the Palestine National Soccer League in limbo due to Israeli interference.
