Esteemed and renowned Islamic scholar Ml Sulaiman Moola says there is consensus among people that it is premature and wrong to pronounce a judgment or praise a person’s character after meeting them for the first time.

Ml Moola was rendering a dose of naseeha during his weekly Spiritual Ladder series in a bid to educate the Ummah about judging or forming an opinion of a person before actually getting to know them.

Ml Moola says after multiple engagements, meetings and interactions with someone can assist in providing possibly a clear character assessment of a person in determining whether they are a great human being or otherwise.

“Likewise, it is equally incorrect to extract a ruling from a hadith and an ayat in isolation. You cannot stand at the shore and estimate the depth of the water. The jurists look at all the ahadith in this regard or all the verses and then they pronounce a ruling.”

Ml Moola says if anyone deserved praises, it was Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA) who used to respond to the praises with total humility.

Ml Moola shared a profound dua of Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA) regarding praising a person.

“Oh Allah You know me more than I know myself and I know myself more than others. Oh Allah make me better than their expectation or better than their notion about me and forgive me for my sins which is unknown to them and don’t hold me accountable for their lavish praises.”

Ml Moola has urged people to acknowledge the good of others and motivate them.
