Esteemed Islamic scholar Ml Sulaimaan Ravat has emphasized that the sanctity marriage must be kept between husband and wife and to the confines of the home without any external interference or broadcast.

While all marriages have good and bad days, the issues if there are any, should be resolved by the couple.

The importance of refraining from sharing marital disputes between husband and wife to family, friends and even colleagues can go a long way to test the resilience of the marriage.

Ml Ravat says it’s a natural human instinct that sometimes husband and wife turn to other people to vent their anger or frustrations if they have an argument with each other.

“At that time when you emotional it may seem like a good idea, but it’s not healthy for your relationship. Why? Firstly, you are going to get a biased opinion. It’s your family, you friends, it’s almost one hundred percent that they are going to take your side, if not directly, indirectly. They are just going to listen to you without telling you that you may have been wrong, or you need to perhaps think about certain things because they don’t want to upset you.”

Ml Ravat says the broadcasting of marital disputes by a husband also causes resentment towards his wife.

“If you are venting all time to your mother or to your father, the esteem of your wife in their eyes is going to drop, it’s a natural thing.”

Ml Ravat says while he is not discouraging couples from venting about marital disputes, they must be very careful about who they speak to as some people may not have the best intentions towards them.
