[LISTEN] Malema: “We Don’ t Hate Jews, Only Apartheid Israel”

November 03, 2017

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 03-11-2017

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema says the march at the Israeli embassy in Pretoria was not because they hate Jewish people, but rather their stance against Apartheid Israel.

Hundreds of EFF members including other organisations and civil society marched to the Israeli embassy on Thursday to mark 100 years since the Balfour Declaration was issued on November 2, 1917.

The declaration turned the Zionist aim of establishing a Jewish state in Palestine into a reality when Britain publicly pledged to establish “a national home for the Jewish people” in Palestine.

Malema says the EFF is not an organisation of South Africans only, but represents all those who are oppressed and reject imperialism and colonialism across the world irrespective if a person is black or white.

“For you to come out in your numbers and say to the people of Palestine, your suffering is our suffering, your pain is our pain, because they oppressed you and they claim to have given us freedom. We are not free until you are free.”

Malema says universities, businesses and organisations must put pressure on Israel by ceasing to engage in activities with the country.

He says there is no room for a two state solution.

“I know there are resolutions and international resolutions on two states solution. We want one state. We want Palestinians and the Jewish communities to live under one democratic country, like we are doing here in South Africa.”

Malema also says the US is the enemy of the Palestinian people.

“The madman who is the president of the USA today, agrees entirely with the nonsense that is happening in Palestine. The nonsense which is perpetuated by Apartheid Israel in Palestine is supported directly by capitalism and by America.”

Malema has called on the South African government to shut down its embassy in Israel and the Israeli embassy in South Africa and urged South Africans not to visit Israel until the land is returned back into the hands of the rightful owners.
