Lenasia South residents have raised concerns about alleged land grabbing on Naran’s farm on the R558 near Lawley.

Hundreds of informal settlements have mushroomed in the area over the past few week with the more expected to follow.

Lenasia South residents have slammed the alleged land invaders in the area, arguing that homelessness does not legitimise occupying vacant property.

This resident says something must be done about the illegal occupation of land.

“It is a disgrace for us here at Lenasia South and the people of Lenasia as these land grabbers have been taking land for free and yet we have been people that have been working , toiling day and night to earn honest living just so they can build their houses.”

In May police had to be deployed to the area as tensions boiled over between alleged land grabbers and community members.
