Ali shared interesting facts of about stock exchanges across the world including the largest and the most number of companies listed on a stock exchange.

“The largest exchange is the New York Stock Exchange. The JSE ranks number 17, so it will take 20 JSE’s to make up the value of the New York Stock Exchange. The Indian Stock Exchange contains 5,600 listed companies and that is the stock exchange that has the largest number of listed companies in the world.”

He says Apple is the number one company on the New York stock exchange.

“The New York Stock Exchange, and there the largest company listed there, Apple $ 940 billion, followed by Amazon $ 880 billion and completing the top 5 we have Alphabet which is the listed company for Google, Microsoft and Facebook. So that just gives you an idea of the size of these companies. They are larger than some of the GDP’s of certain countries throughout the world.”

Ali says the Japanese stock exchange which is the second or third largest in the world features companies like Sony, Honda, Mitsubishi, Canon and Nissan is a very consumer centric, electronics and motoring exchange.
