As adults have we failed our planet?

There  are calls for the youth to take the initiative and the lead in saving our home.

Social activist Yoonus Mitha says we are handing our children a planet that we have destroyed.

“We have abused and taken for granted the nehmat that Allah has bestowed upon us, favours that Allah has bestowed upon us, we have taken it for granted.”

Mitha has urged parents to encourage their children aged between 16 & 25 years old  to attend & find out how they can play a meaningful role in not only saving Oupa Fats Wetland in Lenasia but also the greater natural environment as well.

“Individuals, groups, business, clubs, societies, sporting organisations, religious groups, relief aid organisations, relevant government departments & any other persons interested in Saving our Planet are encouraged to attend this informal plenary meeting of the youth with a view to forming a forum for Young Eco Activists.”

The  initiative will be launched at the Oupa Fats Wetlands on Sunday from 9am to 12pm.
