An employee who started as a sweeper at a local doctor’s surgery in Lenasia has praised her employers for providing her with opportunities to grow her career at their practice.

Dolly Munchusi who is loved by all patients who visit the surgery has been working for Dr. Ibrahim and Mohammed Moosajee for the past 15 years.

Munchusi who started as a sweeper now works as an assistant in the dispensary after being trained by the physicians.

Speaking to Radio Islam, Munchusi says the Moosajee brother’s saw her potential and eagerness to learn and she was promoted to reception and eventually to the dispensary.

“When you are not educated, be yourself and when you don’t have nothing, be yourself and be strong and be eager to learn and learn more even if you are not educated.”

Munchusi says she is thankful to Dr Ibrahim and Mohammed Moosajee for making a difference to her life.

“God is so good all the time for me. What I’m doing, really, I don’t know how to appreciate for the doctors that they did help me, that they did show me. Dr Ibrahim Moosajee and especially Mohammed, Mohammed is like a brother and everything to me.”

Munchusi says while education is important, people should also work hard to empower themselves.
