Esteemed scholar Mufti Yusuf Moosagie says the root of many evils and the core of problems in many marriages is unbridled anger.
Mufti Moosagie was speaking at Masjid Mansoor in Port Elizabeth during a nikkah ceremony.
Concerns have been raised in various circles about issues within marriages, including anger and disputes between husband and wife, interference from in-laws, financial problems, a number of newly wed couples receiving counselling and the high divorce rate among Muslims.
Mufti Moosagie says anger in itself is not a bad thing.
“Anger in itself, you won’t remove it entirely from yourself, but rather you have to redirect anger.”
Listen to Mufti Yusuf Moosagie’s lecture:
Nabi Muhammad (PBUH) said: “In marriage either you will overpower or you will be overpowered, and he said I prefer to be overpowered.”
