The ANC’s NEC has reaffirmed its stance on corruption, saying that secretary-general Ace Magashule will appear before the governing party’s integrity commission on 12 December.

ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa on Tuesday addressed the party following a three-day NEC meeting.

Ramaphosa says the NEC had extensive discussions on the resolutions adopted at its 54th national conference held at Nasrec on the issues of corruption and other forms of wrongdoing.

“We confirm the firm stance we have taken on corruption and wrongdoing within our ranks and within society. There will be no dilution of the position that we have taken in this regard. ”

Ramaphosa insists that the party’s resolutions must be implemented.

“We will fully implement the mandate of the 54th National Conference and the decisions made by the NEC, understanding that these are fundamental to the renewal of the organisation and to the restoration of the credibility of the movement among South Africans.”

Ramaphosa also urged ANC members not denigrate the party by making inflammatory comments, burning the ANC regalia and flag as was done at the trial of Magashule and rather focus on renewal and unity of the organisation.
