As the world gears up to acknowledge Al Aqsa Week, the Palestine Information Networks Hafez Ebrahim Moosa says the campaign was intentionally initiated to coincide with Isra and the journey of Meraj by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Hafez Moosa was speaking to Radio Islam during the Palestine Report this morning.

The Al Aqsa Week is initiated by The Friends of Al Aqsa in the UK and this year they are partnering with the American Muslims for Palestine under the theme Love Masjid Al Aqsa

Hafez Moosa says this year the Al Aqsa week starts on the 27 of Rajab or 10 March.

“During the month of Rajab, sometime the 27th of Rajab. Historically according to some accounts associated with Meraj. Obviously that doesn’t necessitate any special form of Iba’dah. The date itself is subject to historical inquiry.”

Hafez Moosa says each and every Muslim should take a personal responsibility of Masjid-Al Aqsa.

He says the sentiments that the fate of Masjid Al Aqsa is a result of the Palestinians actions is incorrect.

“Masjid Al Aqsa belongs to the whole Ummah and if you want to take that line of argument then it is the actions of the entire Ummah that determines its and the Palestinians are merely custodians.”

Hafez Moosa also shared news about 2020 being a devastating year for Palestinian human rights, including The International Criminal Court (ICC) has launched an investigation into alleged war crimes in the Palestinian territories among other discussions.
