Mohamed Ameen Dabhelia – 2016-04-05
The Free State Department of Health has launched a much needed clinic in the remote town of Tumahole in Parys with the help of the Islamic Medical Association.
The Radio Islam team made the trip to show our support in promoting better healthcare.
We had our two newly launched mobile clinics on site, in partnership with the Islamic Medical Association and The Jamiatul Ulama of South Africa.
Our team assisted and counselled people from the community with regards to HIV and Aids and the way forward for those that are affected or even infected by this disease.
We believe that learning about local culture through service is paramount in bridging the listener and the community.
We spoke to:
Head of the Department Dr David Motau
Free State Premier Ace Magashule
MEC for Health Dr Benny Molokoane
A small lesson we can take out of this humanitarian gesture is that… “Only once you look outside the box of comfort, are you able to see the reality of the situation our people are faced with.”
It’s time we opened our eyes, ears and hearts to recognise those who are in need of our help.
