The Global Relief Welfare Services in Lenasia has managed to raise the money for the return of essential items seized by the Sherriff of the court.
Last week the Sheriff confiscated the assets of the organisation which houses about sixty girls after a security guard employed by the orphanage lodged a complaint with the labour court.
After filing an urgent application, the magistrate ruled Global Relief Welfare Services had to pay R13,200 to the Sheriff’s trust account for the return of the goods.
Legal counsel for the orphanage Moosa Vardalia says the organisation managed to raise the money.
“They collected all their assets and can resume functioning.”
