The Lenasia Muslim School (LMS) has continued its trend of producing exceptional matric results by recording a 100% pass rate despite a difficult academic year.

The matrics of 2020 had to contend with long-term infrastructure backlogs and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The class of 2020 has achieved a 76.2 percent pass rate – this is a 5.1% decline from the previous year.

Speaking to Radio Islam, LMS Principal Apa Nasreen Suliman says they are elated with the schools matric results.

Apa Suliman says the school has achieved 90% bachelor passes including seven learners scoring A aggregates and 204 distinctions.

“We have received a 100% pass rate despite all the challenges and all the difficulties. This is no thanks to the hard work of our teachers, our parents and our learners.”

Apa Suliman says the school has also produced two top learners in Gauteng.

“Our top learner is Muhammad Raees Dindar who achieved an aggregate of 96% and to top it all, he got a 100% in mathematics. Our second top achiever is Muhmmad Adam Loonat who received an aggregate of 95%. These two top learners will proudly be representing our school at the MEC awards tomorrow.”

Apa Suliman says the school and teachers were very proactive from the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown in March ensuring that learners received all the attention they needed to pass their matric exams.
