A former Lenasian has become the first Muslim to represent the Protea’s at a prestigious fishing competition in Italy.
Dr. Shahed Nosarka was selected for the six men Protea team to compete against 29 countries in the 13th World Feeder Championships in Italy from the 1st to the 8th of July next year.
Nosarka, formally from Lenasia, has been fishing professionally for more than 10 years.
Nosarka says he is elated by his selection to the Protea team.
“All Praise to Allah, it’s certainly a huge achievement on my side and all the hard work has certainly paid off. With everyone else dua’s everything will go well Insha’Allah.”
Nosarka says the team has a rigorous training schedule ahead of the championship.
